Many players joined MapleStory Classic World after its Open Beta began, so you may be slightly behind those who got to experience the game earlier. However, as more content becomes available, you will gradually close the gap.
In the early stages of MSCW, most of the action revolves around Victoria Island. Let IGGM show you how to level from 1 to 30 efficiently.
Overall Strategy
Levels 1–30 can be divided into two main stages. From levels 1–10, you will spend most of your time on Maple Island completing quests. After reaching level 10 and completing your first Job Advancement, you can head to Victoria Island to accept quests and grind monsters.
MSCW is crowded during its early launch period, and popular leveling spots will be packed with players. It is best to prepare alternative maps for each level range rather than relying on a single location.
Levels 1–10
There is no reason to leave Maple Island before reaching level 10. Simply complete the quests available on the island. A reliable approach is to stay until level 9 and around 70% EXP, then leave. You should reach level 10 shortly afterward.
Once you arrive on Victoria Island, complete your Job Advancement first. Then visit each town, accept all available quests, and finish as many as possible.
Most of these quests involve defeating Slimes and Stumps. They reward plenty of MapleStory mesos, EXP, and Potions, making the early game considerably easier.
Levels 10–20
After completing your first round of quests, you will probably reach level 13 or 14. If you want to start grinding at this point, consider the following locations.
Henesys Hunting Ground I
Henesys Hunting Ground I is the standard first choice. It is usually very crowded, but its flexible layout makes it a good option for party grinding. If you would rather avoid the crowds, there are several alternative leveling spots to consider.
Hidden Street: The Pig Beach
On Freeway Road Split map, press the up arrow while standing in the flower patch to enter Hidden Street map known as Pig Beach.
This is an excellent party grinding spot populated mainly by Pigs and Ribbon Pigs. They provide good EXP and drop plenty of valuable items, including Leather, Pig Ribbons, and Pig Heads.
These items can be used for your own quests or sold to players who need them for quests and Crafting, making Pig Beach one of the most important sources of income at this level range.
Rainforest East of Henesys
Head right from Henesys and travel through one map to reach Rainforest East of Henesys. This is another popular leveling spot that works well for a six-player party.
Although finding an available party may be difficult, this remains an excellent place to train. The map also contains plenty of Pigs, providing a steady source of EXP and mesos. However, unlike Pig Beach, it is not a Hidden Street map, so it may be even more crowded.
Slime Tree
Slime Tree is a familiar early-game leveling spot for longtime MapleStory players. Essentially, it is a tree-shaped maze filled with Slimes.
You can level here from 10 to 20, but most players will probably stay until around level 10–15. After level 15, leveling efficiency begins to decline.

Levels 20–30
Bubbling
After level 20, Bubblings offer one of the fastest leveling options, but they can also consume a lot of resources. Bubblings provide substantial EXP, and the map is large. Their Spawn Rate is extremely high, and their mesos drops are also decent.
However, Bubblings deal heavy damage and move noticeably faster than ordinary monsters, so you may need to buy MapleStory Classic World mesos to keep up with your Potion consumption. Despite this, Bubblings remain one of the best leveling spots for much of your twenties.
Caution Falling Down
Caution Falling Down is a hidden leveling map near Kerning City. Head west from Kerning City into the construction area and continue onward until you find the entrance.
This spot is particularly suitable for Archers and Mages because most monsters cannot reach the small platforms above. The middle platforms also offer similar safe positions.
You can stand on a platform and continuously attack monsters from a distance with very little risk. Blue Mushrooms do not spawn too high up, so Warriors and Mages can head to the lower platforms to lure more monsters.
You can keep training here until around level 25–28. Although it is not the fastest option, it is exceptionally safe.
The Blue Mushroom Forest
The Blue Mushroom Forest is a Hidden Street map near Henesys, making it suitable for lower-level players who want to complete quests and collect monster drops. Head east from Henesys toward The Forest East of Henesys to find the entrance to Blue Mushroom Forest.
MapleStory Classic World Blue Mushrooms are the main monsters here, although Snails and Slimes also appear. The map has 32 monster spawn points, including 16 Blue Mushrooms, making it a good choice for players who need Blue Mushroom drops or want to complete related quests. The multi-level terrain also gives ranged classes opportunities to take advantage of their positioning while hunting.
Ant Tunnel
Ant Tunnel is an important leveling area for players in their twenties. However, the monsters here are quite powerful, so it is best to wait until at least level 25 before heading there.
Ant Tunnel can accommodate multiple parties grinding at the same time. Both the EXP gained from individual kills and the party EXP are worthwhile, allowing you to stay here for a while and level all the way to 35–40.
One of the easiest ways to reach Ant Tunnel is to take a taxi from Henesys, Kerning City, or another major town to Sleepywood. Once there, enter the dungeon entrance and continue east through maps such as Ant Tunnel I to explore deeper into the area.
These are some of the early leveling spots recommended by IGGM for MapleStory Classic World. If you want to level up faster, consider forming a party to tackle locations with slightly tougher monsters.
